Carers & Family

Brí recognises how important carers, family members, friends and anyone who helps look after a person with a brain injury are and how they need just as much support as people with brain injuries. We are on the committee in Care Alliance Ireland, which organises Carers Week annually. We also work closely with the Carers Association and other carers organisations.
Read below what Brí does for carers and family members.

What We Do For Carers & Family Members:

Carer Support & Pampering

Through the year we host support and pamper events. These one day events are a day of respite for someone who cares for a person with a brain injury.

Brí’s Carer Of The Year

We strongly believe that carers and family should be recognised for what they do.
We host a Brí carer of the year award to show this recognition.

Support Groups

Support groups are a place for people with brain injuries, family and carers to give and receive both emotional and practical support as well as to exchange information. Brí support groups offer a unique opportunity for people to talk openly about brain injury and its impact. And don’t worry – confidentiality is a central aspect of our groups. Ongoing attendance at the groups will give you a better understanding of the group itself and how it can help you. The caring and supportive nature of the groups allows attendees to talk and support each other. To find a group near you click here
