Carers support & pamper events

So what happens at these events?
Our events are usually held on a Saturday and start at 9:00am with a cup of tea/coffee light breakfast and a chance for all of the carers who attend to have a chat.

We then have a small induction and explain what is going to happen throughout the day

We then move onto support workshops. This part of the day gives carers a chance to speak about their experiences as a carer and share tips and has proven very beneficial for carers at our past events.

After our wrokshops we have a guest speaker on topics of interest for carers. Previously we have had speakers from Colour me beautiful, Stress management and The Carers Association. We always aim to have a topic that carers want.

We then break for a hot lunch, this is a great time for all carers to sit together and get to know each other a bit better.

After lunch it is time for the long awaited pampering sessions. Carers are usually treated to a 30 minute session of either massage, facials, manicures or pedicures. There are also hot shaves for the male carers. We also hold relaxation classes and an information room throughout the afternoon.

Once our pampering sessions are over we hold a raffle for our carers with some great prizes and each carer is also treated to a gift bag as they leave.

Our events usuall go on until 4:30 – 5:00pm

Who can attend these events?
This event is for any carer/family member or anyone who looks after a person with a brain injury. It is a day of respite for the carer so we ask that the person you care for does not attend.
