Specially adapted vehicles driven by disabled persons are entitled to exemption from tolls on each toll road in Ireland. The Toll road operators currently issue special passes to facilitate such exempt passage. Passes issued by any one operator will be accepted by all other toll road operators.

Special adapted vehicles driven by disabled persons will continue to be exempt under new barrier free tolling arrangements. The toll operator will automatically identify specially adapted vehicles from information held on the National Vehicle and driver file and excempt passage will be applied accordingly.
